Instructional Design

The hardest part with this one was that I had multiple SMEs due to the nature of Erasmus+ projects. Therefore I have to collect material from five different organisations, which means five various SMEs. Then I had to find common ground in these materials and similarly storyboard them.

Since the target audience is young people, I decided to use branching scenarios to motivate them. Therefore, I allowed the learner to choose between paths through decisions that affect the outcome. Finally, I added various gamification elements to make it more engaging.

After I was done with the Storyboard and got approval from the different SMEs, I started developing the project. I used Articulate Storyline to create the template based on the project’s colours. Note that the graphic designer of the project pointed out the colours. Then, I found the vectors I needed from freepik, which were edited and imported into the five scenarios.

Among other deliverables, we created a Career Simulator containing 5 scenarios where the user assumes the role of a female persona. Through storytelling, the persona engages in problem-solving activities, ultimately starting in the fields of Computing, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Web Design and Development.
